A.M.P.I. Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals)

Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals By Marilyn Newman

At both national and local levels, A.M.P.I. represents the formalizing of a stringent code of ethics and procedures for the countries’ real estate professionals.  Local chapters are formed to serve the community in each region to insure that real estate clients will be aided by well qualified and experienced brokers and agents.

Vallarta is proud to have three such chapters in the region, comprised of A.M.P.I. Vallarta, A.M.P.I. Riviera-Nayarita and A.M.P.I. Compostella.  These three organizations have been working together to bring a higher level of professionalism to the industry by the coordination of continuing education courses, community service projects and oversight.

Each Association meets monthly to provide area realtors the opportunity to network and be informed of changes and topics relevant to their real estate markets which has recently included a change in the MLS Vallarta system.  While it isn’t mandatory that an individual be a member of A.M.P.I., those who are can be counted on to conduct themselves and their brokerages in a professional and ethical manner through the guidelines brought forward both nationally and regionally.

AMPI Continuing Education Seminar & Riviera-Nayarita Monthly Meeting

Published by under A.M.P.I,Certification

It was a very busy week for area real estate professionals taking advantage of what their Association had to offer.

The last Friday of every month brings a new focus of continuing education to the three regional chapters of the Mexico Real Estate Association (AMPI – Asociacion Mexicana de  Profesionales Inmobiliarios).   The May course entitled, AMPI:  Code of Ethics and Conduct, brought together more than 50 agents with an interest in furthering their professional careers.

Presenting this course were brokers, Saul Groman-Carpe Diem, Harriet Murray-Cochran Real Estate, Juan Jose Martinez-My Home Vallarta, Silvia Elías  and  David Pullen  from PV Realty, who encountered a stimulating rapid-fire question and answer session at the end.  A similar course had been offered in 2010 by AMPI National in which they spoke about the Code of Ethics and Conduct for all real estate professionals in Mexico.  This present course was meant to augment the previous one by adding information on a more local basis and applying specific criteria.

Continuing education is a prominent issue for AMPI to guarantee all area agents have the ability to serve their community with the utmost professionalism and training available.  Our Code of Ethics and Conduct is an integral part of this.

The day before the seminar the AMPI Riviera-Nayarita  Chapter held their monthly meeting hosted by a new development in Marina Vallarta, Nima Bay Condominiums.  The association members were given a presentation which had previously been shown at an investors’ conference held in Vallarta last month.  Following the presentation, a tour of beautiful Nima Bay was conducted to familiarize the agents with the property.

Area Real Estate Associations Announce New MLS

Published by under A.M.P.I,Certification

By Marilyn Newman

The Vallarta-Nayarit-Compostela chapters of AMPI (Asociacion Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiiarios) announced the launch of their new regional MLS (multiple listing service).

The three regional chapters have been working to provide the system to their members and the general public for more than a year.  The public web site offers not only information about the association and the services they provide, but provides the ability to search the extensive property listing database, as well as search for an association professional to assist with the purchase or sale of area real estate.

Some of the exciting features offered to real estate professionals by the new AMPI MLS are the ability to establish “Portals” for buyers so that they automatically receive the most recent property listings, as well as comprehensive statistics and graphs.  The new system also provides activity reports to sellers so that they have the proper feedback and tools on which to base their selling decisions.  What does this mean to real estate clients?  It means they receive the quality service and information they deserve for all of their real estate alternatives.

Only AMPI associate offices are able to provide this new MLS service to their clients.  It is a way to ensure that the agent with which you are working has maintained the highest standards in ethics and education. The public web site for the service can be located at www.vallartanayaritmls.com.

Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) What is that?

By Marilyn Newman, Prudential California Realty

I just couldn’t wait for Ms. Barbara Walter’s interview in order to announce that I recently received the distinction of Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). Those that have been in the real estate business for a while know this is no small feat. The CIPS Network is a specialty group of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) that focuses on international real estate.

A Certified International Property Specialist is an individual who has proven their expertise in international real estate practice by completing CIPS program requirements. NAR International administers the program and designation which focuses on ownership and transaction principles of international real estate, including specifics on real estate markets in Europe, the Americas and the Asia/Pacific region. Topics covered in the CIPS classes also include cultural diversity, market data, investment trends, marketing strategies, currency issues and financing.

Clients can benefit from the representation of real estate professionals who have earned the CIPS designation. NAR studies show that CIPS designees tend to be highly experienced both in real estate and in dealing with clients from diverse cultures and CIPS designees are increasingly relied upon by local community and business organizations as international business resources.

Broker Tere Kimball commented, “Being a CIPS myself, I can tell you that it was a tough, but interesting course. There are only a few CIPS designees in the Vallarta area and I am extremely proud Marilyn is one.” She went on to say, “Education is what you should all be doing right now. Invest in your career and in your future.”

Speaking of education, advanced real estate courses in English and Spanish are being scheduled for the end of August and the first part of September, 2009. For information on schedule and costs please contact Mr. Rafael Valdez at raval@rex-mexico.com for details.
